Ernest speculates on how the administrators of Drancy camp came to realise Ernest was British
A letter dated 22 Apr 1942 from Drancy to St Denis requesting info on Ernest's nationality
[tape stopped and restarts] Wonga recaps what he found through research on Drancy, incorporating it with details Ernest had provided
[tape stopped and restarts] Wonga wants to discuss some details at Drancy like the work duties (corvées) and the food; Ernest states that Sonja could visit at St Denis but no visits were allowed at Drancy; Wonga asks if Ernest was aware of prisoner arrivals and departures; Ernest confirms that there was no intellectual life nor solidarity amongst the prisoners [tape stopped and restarts several times]
Wonga speaks of Ernest's return to St Denis being as sudden as the departure; Ernest confirms he told his fellow prisoners [mentions Milosz, Weinfeld] what he had seen at Drancy but that did not include the transportation of the Jews to execution camps, but Wonga speculates whether the Jews were realising it or not
Wonga speaks of research connecting the camps, that both Drancy and Royallieu-Compiègne were transit camps
[tape stopped and restarts] Ernest wonders why Milosz was sent from St Denis but others not, Wonga reminds Ernest it was because Milosz was born in Egypt and a British subject until Rommel attacked Northern Africa
audio file 151-1 discusses Milosz
[tape stopped and restarts] Wonga speaks of Sonja witnessing La Rafle de Paris as she tried to meet her friend Genia, a Polish Jew [and friend of Asger Jorn's] at her home; that whilst she was asking the whereabouts of her friend, Sonja heard cries and was told that it was from the children because their mothers were being rounded up
There were multiple round-ups of Jews in Paris during World War II. Elsewhere, Wonga states Genia Rajhmann was part of the Vel d'Hiver round-up.
Wonga tells that the children would later also be transported, speaking of Adolf Eichmann's trial; they also discuss the morality of the Drancy prisoner and administrator who gave witness, Dr George Wellers
It is likely Wonga is referring to the PBS production "The Trial of Adolf Eichmann", 1997
