Royallieu-Compiègne internment camp
During World War II, many internment and transit camps were set up. The Royallieu-Compiègne camp, in the city of Compiègne, north of France, was originally built as military barracks in 1913. It became a transit camp second only to Drancy for the number of Jews deported to extermination camps.
