Alberto Giacometti
Swiss-born, Giacometti moved to Paris in 1922. He worked with the Surrealists participating in some of Andre Breton's surrealist group activities. His work focused on the human head in the 1930s and after World War II, his focus was on elongated figures, sometimes singular and in small groups. He worked from the same Parisian studio, at 46 Rue Hippolyte, for most of his career.
