Sonja Ferlov writes to Richard Mortensen and thanks him for his letter and the books he has sent her. She recounts their previous acquaintance and how back then she did not understand his thoughts, but that they keep emerging and make sense to her now. She writes about the human condition and inner freedom, as well as her artistic creative process, where the thing becomes a process for her, more than a result. She talks about her unresolved relationship with the outside world. The letter stops and presumably resumes in July 1941 – cf. the postmark – where she asks him to call her mother.
